When I was writing the previous post, I was looking for photos of the planes that took us out of China. As I found one, my husband suddenly exclaimed "That plane is called a Gooney Bird! I flew in one when I was in the Air Force ROTC, and the pilot actually let me fly it for a short time."
How interesting that my hubby actually flew the same kind of plane that transported me out of China so many years ago!

I love this, I had heard there was a plane called the gooney bird, but I had never seen one!!
That is amazing! I remember seeing pictures of the Gooney Bird.
Hi Ruthie! Just think how long people have been flying and I have never graced the skys. I wish I had early on in life because now with all of the crashes lately, I probably never will. Great story! Deb
Ruthie - I just caught up on your posts. Your experiences as a child in China were amazing and I am intrigued with them. Thanks so much for sharing.

Oh, Ruthie..I just read about you, your mom and dad going on different planes out of China. I know your mom and dad both were just beside themselves with worry. Thankfully, you were all held in God's hands....whew...my heart beat a little faster, just reading about it. If my little girl had to go thru that, I would have just about died right then and there...'
Thanks for sharing your amazing story with us...

Yes, I agree. That is very interesting and exciting too...Thanks for your comments about breakfast. We do have LaPeeps here. In fact, it is the first place I ate breakfast in Phoenix. The elders of the church took me there for breakfast when I first visited the church here. We also like IHOP. I would like breakfast after church but Charlotte doesn't so we eat breakfast early before the morning worship and then lunch afterward.
