China Childhood Memories - My little suitcase

I had a special tiny blue child's suitcase in China. All my treasures were in it - my doll, my hanky, a pencil, and whatever else a little girl would have along when traveling. On a trip across country in a battered Chinese truck, we came over a hill to see a band of robbers waiting to rob some wary traveler. I clung tightly to my little suitcase. I know my parents were praying. Suddenly, the robbers turned, ran up the hill and disappeared over the top. I clearly remember seeing them running up the hill. We never knew why they ran away. With delight, I looked at my Mom and said, "Wasn't Jesus and the angels good to keep the robbers from stealing my suitcase?"

This is a picture is of me saying my nightly prayers with my dolly, Zella.
God again showed His watchcare over us in China.

Have a great Sunday.

Great post. That must have been scarey. I am glad they didn't steal your suitcase.

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
Psalm 27:1 KJV

I'm not sure how old I was - but I can remember the robbers running up the hill and being so glad my suitcase was OK...but my mom told me what I said.
Maybe 4 yrs?!

You were so cute as a child, your picture could be a famous portrait hanging on everyone's wall!

I'm sure your parents were thinking of your safety while you were thinking of your little suitcase, God was surely with you when you were in China :).

Have a blessed day,
Kathi :)
