Favorite Christmas ornaments

I want to share some of my favorite Christmas ornaments with you.
These were made by my daughters. The cross-stitch one was made by Shari, and the sequined one was made by Jan. We used to give each other handmade ornaments every year (that included our daughter-in-law and grandchildren) but we soon had too many ornaments to fit on our trees - so we decided to just love the ones we already had.
These are some of my fun blue ones - blue being my favorite color. We got the moose one up in the mountains when we were camping.
Since we have so much blue on our tree, we perk it up with these red ornaments. These are more vintage looking.
I have enjoyed blue Snow Buddies, too, and these are some of those ornaments.
Angels are a special party of Christmas. I love the glass ones and the white ones are Scandinavian. The gold one with the wind chimes is a favorite of the grandchildren. We hang it on the lower branches of the tree so they can ring the chimes.

It's always fun to put up the ornaments with all the memories and a little sad to take them down again. But they will all be there next year to enjoy!

What were your favorite ornaments this year??? And do you have any special Christmas memories?

Such pretty ornaments--I think my favorite ornament this year was the 2008 White House ornament, of which I have a collection.

Taking down Christmas is always hard, I think, however when it is all put away, it feels good to me, to have things all back where they belong. I also look around and think of things that I could buy to give a room a little more pizzaz, because with Christmas put away, things always look a little boring and routine!

I peeked at the pictures of the new baby over on Jan's site. She is so adorable!

I'm sure you saw my ornaments when I shared them. I love your special ones. It'd e hard to pick which one I like the most. That NOEL caught my eye, but I love the snowmen. Then again, the ones made by your daughters are super. See the problem you gave me?

Your ornaments are all lovely. The cross stitched and sequines are especially pretty. Of course, I like anything with angels. I think that each ornament is my favorite - they are all so lovely that I can't say that one is prettier than another.
Hugs,
Sweetie

I love that they are homemade. It makes it that much more sentimental and special.

One of my favorite ornaments is a crystal ornament of the Holy Family with my year of birth. It was given to me by my beloved grandmother who has since then passed.

These are beautiful... I tend to lean towards handmade and crafty ornaments!! I am a traditionalist, and always have a very traditional tree!!!
We have ornaments with pictures of all of our children and grandchildren, and they each place THEIR ornament on the tree.

You have such lovely ornaments, Ruthie. I can understand why it is hard to put them away.

I am not going to put my tree away just yet. I am working on some valentine ornaments so I can keep it up for another month. I will post pictures if I can get it to look right. =)

Hi Ruthie, Your ornaments are beautiful! I find it sad to take my ornaments down too. This year we didn't put up a tree for the first time in 43 years and I missed seeing all of my ornaments. We have a memory tree filled with things given or made for us through the years.

I love the idea of exchanging handmade ornaments! I especially liked that cross stitch one! I've decided that this year I would like to cross stitch - I have seen so many cute projects at a lot of blogs. Hope you're having a great day!!!

Your ornaments are so pretty. How nice to have such memories on the ornaments. Ruthie, I have lost my blog roll twice and after the second time I promised myself it wouldn't happen again. I made a new blog with just my list of all the blogs I visit. The only bad thing about that is not everyone sees them, and I myself like to look at othere peoples blog roll because you never know what blog you might find. I don put a link on my blog to my favorite blog page.
Have a great day,
ginger

Hi Ruthie...it was so nice to see you stop by today. I have not been very good at blogging as of lately. I am in the process of trying to learn graphics in paint shop pro. Its so hard.
I loved seeing all your ornaments. I just love handmade ones, they come from the heart. Have a great week and stay warm.

You have gorgeous ornaments. I gave my ornaments to my daughter and we enjoy them on her tree. My favorite is probably a pink-checkered one that I bought when I was pregnant 37 years ago. My mother was shopping with me and I have the best memory of that day. Little did I know I would only have her another 6 years. Ornaments have such special memories. Thank you for reminding me.

Your plate is precious Ruthie, I too love plates and hang them in my kitchen.

I have been working on my blog roll as well, it's time consuming. If only blogger would have made it easier but it is worth it, I love seeing everyone's new pictures and I know when they've posted something new :)

You have a lot of special ornaments. When I took ours off the tree this year before I put them away I layed them all on the dining room table. It was interesting to see them that way. I usually just take them down and put them in the storage boxes.

I just tagged you.
