Wordless Wednesday - Mountain Flowers

My mother loved wild roses. Every time I see them in the mountains, I think of her and it brings back wonderful memories of my special Mom.

These are lovely... I love wild roses too... here in the south there is a wild rose called The Confederate Rose... Not sure why... but they grow mostly on ditch banks.. and they are beautiful.

Lovely picture Ruthie, I could just sit there by that little bush, look at the water and think. Deb

You made me think about this poem I wrote about my Grandma. Her last name was Rose...my Grandma Rose.

1999-3-99 My Rose
Some say a beautiful woman is like a rose- long stemed, rare beauty, and hard to hold.
I know a rose of another kind most rare today, but still you might find- up in the hills growing close to the ground- providing shelter to small things all around. Some thorns for protection are placed here and there, the leaves are many- the heat they can bear.
Yes, beauty is there in a plain lovely way, not imposing or pushy, but there just the same.
