Tornado near our house

Driving home from lunch after Church, we heard the tornado sirens, and looking up, saw this tornado. I have never seen a tornado that close before. It was very unnerving. I took pictures of it out the window of our car as we drove along.
We were driving down the Interstate past our Mall, when it seemed to be coming right towards us. I asked my hubby to speed up in spite of the hail.
This was taken of our rear view mirror, after we passed the Mall.

Arriving home, we turned on the TV and found that the tornado had touched down at the Mall (about a mile from us), causing damage but no injuries to anyone.

Our grandaughter and family live right next to the Mall, and they had a couple of windows blown out at their house.

We thank the Lord for His protection today.

Wow, that was a close call - exciting yet scary at the same time. I'm glad no one was hurt. Tornados can do such terrible damage. I didn't know you had tornados in Colorado. I guess they can strike anywhere though. We don't ordinarily have them in Arizona, but it has happened here too.
I'm glad you're safe.

Hello Ruthie, boy, what an experience. Those photos are amazing. I once saw a tornado form before my eyes in the same way. it was so close and people were pulling off the road and we were so scared. We kept driving and we saw it touch down in a field beside our car. Thank goodness nothing was there, just empty land. Everyone went on their way thanking God nothing bad happened.

I am sure your granddaughter was thankful it was broken windows and nothing worse. You were blessed with God's protection for sure.

Hugs...Jeanne

Tornadoes are so scary... even worse at night when you can't see where they are headed.
