Happy May Day

I remember as a grade school person, we would give May baskets to our friends. I don't think kids do this now. But it was a fun thing to do. Happy May Day!

Happy May Day Ruthie! I think it would be a great idea if kids got back to giving May Baskets...It's all about a giving spirit! :)

Happy May Day a day late. We always danced the May Pole dance on May Day when we were in elementary school.
I love the idea of flower baskets too!

I grew up in a traditional Catholic home and on May Day we honored the Blessed Mother of Jesus by placing a crown made of flowers on a statue. The symbolism of crowning Mary with flowers and knowing her Son was crowned with thorns was a powerful lesson. May your May be filled with joy and spiritual growth.

Be blessed.

We always did it as children. We would use violets in the basket. We had so much fun leaving it on the doorstep , ringing the doorbell, and running off to hide behind a bush or a car to see the person find the basket!! They would then invite us in for a chat.

The flowers are beautiful and I remember celebrating May Day. May 1 is special for our family as that is our daughter Stephanie's birthday.
