I remember as a grade school person, we would give May baskets to our friends. I don't think kids do this now. But it was a fun thing to do. Happy May Day!
I grew up in a traditional Catholic home and on May Day we honored the Blessed Mother of Jesus by placing a crown made of flowers on a statue. The symbolism of crowning Mary with flowers and knowing her Son was crowned with thorns was a powerful lesson. May your May be filled with joy and spiritual growth.
Beautiful flowers !!!I am new to this so please come by my blog and esp. read Count Your Blessings---I did not know about Spiritual Sundays or I would have posted it there---This is going to a lot of fun.
Hi Ruthie, I just wanted to let you know that I have nominated you for the Golden Heart Award. You can go to my At Home in Scottsdale blog to pick it up. Hugs, Charlotte
We always did it as children. We would use violets in the basket. We had so much fun leaving it on the doorstep , ringing the doorbell, and running off to hide behind a bush or a car to see the person find the basket!! They would then invite us in for a chat.
My DH and I are enjoying being retired, spending time with family, and doing some traveling in our RV.
My goal for this blog is to make it fun, uplifting and encouraging.

Happy May Day Ruthie! I think it would be a great idea if kids got back to giving May Baskets...It's all about a giving spirit! :)
Happy May day to you! We had rain in the morning and then it ended up beautiful and sunny! I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

The flowers are beautiful and I remember celebrating May Day. May 1 is special for our family as that is our daughter Stephanie's birthday.
