We had just moved into a new house and we felt like we were on a beach - all sand and no grass or trees! The city told us that a tree would eventually be planted in front of our house. We waited and waited, but no tree arrived. One night, our 6 yr old son got tired of waiting. In his bedtime prayer, he prayed "Dear Jesus, please have the city bring our tree tomorrow!" My first thought was "What if a tree is not planted tomorrow - would my little boy's faith in God be destroyed?"
Early the next morning, our son ran downstairs and positioned himself by the front window waiting for the tree. To my amazement, a big city truck came by and planted our tree!! Not only did they plant one tree - but our front yard was large enough that they planted two trees!
The faith of our little son was rewarded.

Ruthie, yes prayer does work and it must have made a believer out of your grandson. :)
Hugs,
Chris
That must have been one excited little boy.
awesome testimony!!
What a marvelous testimony. Yes, God does answer prayer. Of course he doesn't always answer them just when and just the way we want them answered, but sometimes he does. He does want us to have childlike faith. Thanks for sharing.
Blessings,
Charlotte
OH~~~ What a wonderful story!

Great story. Great message. No extra commentary needed. Thanks for posting.
I love that story! When my daughter was 5 yrs. old, huge storm clouds were billowing overhead. After a while they dissipated and I asked, "Where did that storm go?" to which Heather replied, "Mommy, I prayed it away!" Oh for the faith of a little child!
Blessings,
Cheryl
Dear Ruthie, What a wonderful story. Your son will always remember his prayers being answered. And - I'm sure that you taught him to pray. I often wonder how people that do not have faith get through their trials. Thank you so much for sharing.
