Here we are on September 18, 1959 on our wedding day!
Both of us originally came from Minnesota, but we met our here in Colorado. I had finished my RN degree and three of us nurses came out to CO after hearing one of our classmates talk about the wonders of this state. I intended to stay only a year - but then I met this tall, blond, wonderful Christian man and ended up marrying him and staying here in Colorado! We raised three wonderful children here - and are now enjoying having grandchildren and great grandchildren.
I feel so blessed as we look back on our 49 years. We thank the Lord for leading us together.

Hi Ruthie, and congratulations to you and your DH on your 49th Wedding Anniversary! What I love most about your blog is your lovely spirit. Then I'm blown away by the way your husband is still so attentive after all these years and I know that he's a gift to you from God and you to him. The beautiful pictures and China stories are just the icing on the cake. I pray that this time is the most blessed you two have ever been!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!
49 years of marriage is some sort of hallmark in this age of easy in/easy out marriages. Congratulations! What an honor to the Lord is your commitment and longevity.
Terry, my own DH, and I will celebrate 42 years this November.
May the years ahead be even better than the best of years passing.

Happy Anniversary, when I look back at my 26 year marriage and look ahead at all the years to come, I am so comforted by thoes of you who have set the example for all of us. The culture tells us that marriages are disposable, but God tells us that the bond between a man and a woman is a covenat relationship. Praise God for your example and for your blessed union. Whishing you many more happy years together.
