When we were first married, my mother-in-law gave us some Currier and Ives dishes. We used them for many years. When our son went to college, we got some new dishes and gave these to our son. A few years ago, I was in an antique store and discovered these dishes were now collectables. I suddenly realized I missed these dishes - so over several visits, I purchased some of these. We now have almost a complete set and my hubby and I use them now for our every day dishes. I find I enjoy these dishes a lot.
These are the plates - labeled "The Old Grist Mill".
These are the cereal bowls - labeled "Early Winter".
I took a photo of the serving dish showing Maple Sugaring, but it turned out to be a sideways picture and I couldn't get it turned around. Oh well.
Thanks, Shelia, for suggesting I post about my blue and white dishes. (She has red and white ones). :)

Hi Ruthie!! Oh, I have all these wonderful dishes. I've been collecting them for so many years and so many additional pieces. I just had them on display for about 10 years and decided I would change things up in our house and boxed them up and put them in the garage. You're making me want to get them back out!! Have a lovely weekend and if you get a chance, come by, I'm having a tea party today!
Be a sweetie,
Shelia

I love the Currier & Ives dishes too. I love pretty dishes period. We have a lot of one of a kind plates that I sometimes use on the table. Gives a little variety.

Hi Sweet Ruthie!! So glad to hear you are using those pretty dishes! So many times people don't enjoy the nice things they love because of the fear of breaking them. But you know what I think....life is short and enjoy those things while you can!!!
Ruthie, I have always loved these dishes!! They are beautiful!!
Oh, my! When I was a small child, my mother collected those plates, bit by bit through a promotion with the A&P Grocery Store.
Thanks for the memories.
A prisoner of hope,
Megan

I always enjoy posts about blue and white china.
Hi, Ruthie, I'm Holly!
I found you through Google while researching my Currier & Ives dishes!
Most of mine were given to me by a kind land lady I once had but I picked up a few pieces at shops through the years. I really don't see them in the thrift stores anymore but you never know- maybe my next trip!
I'll have to check out the rest of your blog.
Have a beautiful day, Ruthie!
