Military Memorial Service

This weekend we were honored to be at a Memorial Service for a friend's mother who was an Army Nurse in WW II.
The military cemetery and the flag ceremony were very impressive. It made us realize, again, the significance of those who have given their lives in service to our country.
For those who have lost loved ones, I want to post the chorus of this song, written by Don Wertzen entitled "Finally Home".
"Just think of stepping on shore
And finding it Heaven.
Of touching a hand
And finding it God's.
Of breathing new air
And finding it Celestial.
Of waking up in Glory
And finding it Home!"

I've never been to a military funeral but I hear they are extremely moving.

A military funeral is such a wonderful tribute, thank you, and farewell to those who served our country.
They are always so very moving.

How often I forget that outside my warm, safe home are others fighting for my privilage to do enjoy those comforts. I get chills of the many who sacrifice their lives for us.

Thank you for honoring the military. We are blessed to have such freedoms and it all came with a price. I am so grateful to those that came before us and fought for our freedom. It must have been a touching ceremony.

Hi Ruthie! It's so nice to meet you! I am truly loving meeting all of the nice folks here in Blogland. Maybe we can play a duet sometimes! Wouldn't that be fun! Oh, and it's great to find people who have the same "loves". Have a wonderful evening and thank you for stopping in for a cookie and peach tea! Shelia :)

How thankful I am for those who have served and are now serving in the military.

Thanks for sharing about the funeral and also for the song that reminds us the best is yet to come when Jesus is our Savior.

Glad you stopped by my blog. I appreciate your comment.

Great post. I have a dear uncle who is in his late 80s now that served in WWII. Those people were real heros.
